Learn about cutting-edge research impacting our loved ones and us! Dr. Sohrabji directs research on ischemic stroke, a leading risk factor for Alzheimer’s and dementia, and developing treatments. Recent research focused on the gut microbiome, metabolites and permeability, which also yielded therapeutic strategies. Numerous accolades include serving on the National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine writing group for Chronic Conditions in Women (published in 2024), receiving the Outstanding Research Award from the International Behavioral Neuroscience Society (2024), and the Association of Former Students' Distinguished Achievement Award in Research (2024).
