OCTOBER NEWSLETTER, PART 2

Howdy!

Since 1927, Houston Aggie Moms Club (HAM) has united Houston Aggie Moms and their Aggie families through scholarships, programming, support, and the Aggie Spirit.

Our October meeting was well attended with our guest speaker, Dr. Wynne Duncan, addressing a topic for us moms specifically - women's midlife health. It was also fun to have a Halloween theme and costume contest. Congrats to our 12th Man Aggie Scarecrow, Debbie Heath, who won a pair of Cowboy Boot Buttons! Our meetings are more than just a meeting handling the business component of our nonprofit. They are fun- dinner, socializing & Aggie mom updates & news!

Next month, we won't have a guest speaker. November will be a Friendsgiving and Networking meeting. So, look for details soon.

As we step into the fall season, we look forward to the opportunities ahead to grow together, welcome new families, and deepen the impact of our mission. With gratitude for all that has been accomplished and anticipation for what’s to come, we are proud to carry forward the Aggie spirit into the months ahead.But please make sure your membership dues are up to date and confirm your contact information by October 31, 2025! This will be your last newsletter if you don't & I would hate to see you go! We will send communications to MEMBERS ONLY after that!

Order Your Finals Care Packages By this Tuesday, October 21st! Time is Running Out!

Houston Aggie Moms' Club is taking orders for the 2025-2026 Care Packages. Order a finals care package for your Aggie and one for a friend or roommate!

The fall semester care package will include a Texas A&M AirTag keychain (AirTag not provided), a laptop case plus snacks and goodies to help them survive finals!

Boutique & Our Volunteers Who Make it Happen

Jennifer Olmos and Claudia Sanchez are serving as the 2025 – 2026 Co-VPs of the Houston Aggie Moms Boutique. Jennifer and Claudia are both “newish” members to the Houston Aggie Mom’s group but they seem to have been members for years!

Claudia is a Buyer for Brown and Root Industrial Services at ExxonMobil Baytown. She has been an active member since 2024. She is the proud mom of Gaby, Class of 2026, who is majoring in Hospitality, Hotel Management and Tourism.

Jennifer is a Paralegal at Arnold Ventures. She is the proud mom of daughters Sarah, Class of 2026, who is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Public Health and Jacqueline, Class of 2027 at the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Public Relations. She proudly boasts how fun it is to have a house divided! Jennifer was an active member during Sarah’s freshman year but took a gap year to transition Jacqueline to college and rejoined in 2024.

Claudia and Jennifer were excited to jump head in when asked to Co-Chair this year’s Boutique. They immediately brainstormed on how to rebrand our Boutique! This year’s theme is “Game Day Ready!” Claudia and Jennifer used their daughters’ quest to bring Aggie Spirit to every game in their Game Day outfits as inspiration for our Boutique. There are stylish and trendy Cowboy Boot Ribbons, handbags, jewelry, men's baseball caps, Game Day Pins, A&M brand syrofoam Cups, and so many more fun items. There is definitely a little bit of everything for everyone! Stop by and shop our Game Day Boutique at the next General Meeting. Or you can visit our online Boutique Store! Shop online, make your purchases & your items will be ready for pickup at the November General Meeting.

General Meeting Fun!

Cyndi Ruiz-Mansfield, President of the local Houston chapter of the "We Don't Care Club" (also President of the Houston Aggie Moms) introduced our guest speaker, Dr. Gracia Wynne Duncan, who had us listening & learning about women's midlife health.

Aggie Moms love dressing up! Debbie Heath (pictured right in both pics) won some Cowboy Boot Buttons for winning the Best Costume Award as the 12th Man Aggie Scarecrow!

Ring of Honor Happy Hour

Look for your Evite to RSVP!

Ring of Honor (ROH) is specifically for members who have at least one Aggie who has graduated or is no longer a current student at Texas A&M but wish to remain a member of the Club, keep up with Aggie activities, and continue to visit with the friends we made through our years in Houston Aggie Moms' Club. ROH moms hold additional events throughout the year. General membership in Houston Aggie Moms' Club is required for membership in the Ring of Honor sub-group.
