JUNE 2026 NEWSLETTER

Howdy Houston Aggie Moms!

When I first spoke at the Howdy Party, I explained I am not an Aggie. I am a Baylor Bear…undergrad and law school! But I married an Aggie and birthed an Aggie which led me to learn about the Aggie spirit and the Houston Aggie Moms. Once I got involved, I quickly realized the Houston Aggie Moms’ Club is so much more than an organization; it’s a vibrant group of women who become friends, united by a shared devotion to our students, steadfast loyalty to Texas A&M, and an unwavering support for one another.

Now as I end my year as President, I reflect on how quickly this remarkable year has ended and my heart is full of gratitude. The dedication of the membership and especially our board members has been truly inspiring, and I am deeply honored to have served as President. Each volunteer hour, every donation, and every word of encouragement has fueled our purpose. By joining forces, we made a tangible difference in the lives of Aggies and their families, showing what’s possible when passionate individuals pursue a common goal. Your generosity and commitment transformed 2025-2026 into a banner year for the Houston Aggie Moms’ Club. I am sincerely grateful for the support that has propelled us forward. Thank you for letting me be part of this incredible journey.

Please take a moment to review the "Thank you!" graphic below, which highlights our achievements this year which are a direct result of your involvement!

Have a great summer! We look forward to seeing you in the fall! This is my last newsletter! Whoop!

Thanks and Gig 'Em,

Our membership drive started on June 1, so if your membership expired on May 31, so please renew for another year, or even 4 years! If your Aggie has graduated (Yay!), please renew and join our Ring of Honor (ROH) group (no additional cost) and add extra social activities throughout the year just for ROH members!

Volunteer Spotlights
Cyndi Ruiz-Mansfield

Although my title is changing to Past President and my only child graduated last month, I am looking forward to assisting in any way needed and looking forward to being a Ring of Honor Mom! My affection for this club—and for each of you—remains steadfast!

I am also looking forward to having some extra free time! Bella begins her "big girl job" next week here in Houston and is living with us for her first year. I am very excited to have her back! With my extra time, I plan to learn how to play mahjong, finally address my to-do list projects around the house that I have been ignoring this past year, go to Body Pump a little more consistently, and hang out with family & friends.

Cara Wallin Reid

Cara Wallin Reid, a native Houstonian, was living abroad as her first son entered Texas A&M. She moved back to Houston and became involved with Houston Aggie Moms when her second Aggie attended TAMU four years later. She has worn many hats in the club including chairing the Auction, Boutique, Programs, Corresponding Secretary and is honored to serve as President in 2026-27. Even though she has a degree from UT, she has been named honorary member of The Reveliers (formerly Aggie Women’s Chorus) and, along with her husband, Mark, honorary members of the Singing Cadets. Cara also served as Hospitality Chair on the Federation of Aggie Moms’ Clubs' Board this past year.

Cara is thankful to have met so many inspiring women through HAM and sharing fun experiences together. She loves to meet students to hear the ways our scholarships have truly impacted them. She always makes time to give students boosts of encouragement either through words, puppy hugs, or passing out finals care packages. Cara has also collected many great memories and funny stories through the years at Boutique during Family Weekend.

As we begin HAM's Centennial Year, Cara hopes to continue the legacy of friendship and giving which enhances the educational experiences of deserving Aggie students. With Cara’s leadership, our organization is poised for even greater success!
