Getting to Know Our Volunteers

Maggie Saether

Maggie joined our club halfway through her Aggie’s freshman year, and her first major impression came when she and her husband joined a table of friends at our annual gala and auction. She saw how the hard work of our auction team came together to pull off a fun and productive fundraiser that supports students and Aggie organizations and clubs with scholarships and funding while introducing Aggie traditions (though she already knew the Aggie War Hymn from her father who attended A&M). When asked to join the auction committee the following year after complimenting their success, she knew her better fit was the VP Membership board position. She claims she never met a stranger and enjoys connecting people for a common purpose. If you know Maggie, you know truer words have never been spoken. Maggie is currently serving her second year as Membership Vice President, guiding and organizing our membership drive and renewals, and ensuring our website and publications answer common membership questions.

Maggie’s advice would be to treat your membership as an opportunity to experience the Aggie spirit yourself and mix up how you get involved in our club. We don’t expect our members to participate in every activity.  We can guarantee you will learn something about Aggieland, current campus life, and yourself when you get involved. And you will feel better connected to your student.
